The Centre
CERISE is the outgrowth of the collaboration between the Department of Economics of the University of Siena and the Department of Economics of the University of Florence, which promoted it as a research centre for applied economic studies. Its main research fields are: analysis of industry’s structure and evolution, analysis of the labour market, evaluation of public policies, economic and business history.
CERISE sums up the research experiences jointly carried out by its members since 1999, mainly in the Department of Economics of the University of Florence and the Italian Centre of Research and Information on the Public, Social and Cooperative Economy (CIRIEC), for many public and private institutions, among which Associazione Industriali of Siena, Camera di Commercio of Pisa, Fondazione IRI and Fondazione Monte dei Paschi di Siena, Province of Firenze, Livorno, Lucca and Prato, Regione Toscana and Regione Friuli Venezia-Giulia, Unioncamere Toscana, Utilità s.c.r.l
CERISE was established on 5 July 2004 through a charter underwritten by the Universities of Siena and Florence.
